As VB.NET and C#.NET are becoming more widely used, and also with mainstream support of VB6 being discontinued by Microsoft during 2005, it is recommended user's currently using VB6 look to make the transition to .NET. To aid in this transition, a new set of libraries dedicated for use in .NET have been developed.
It is also recommended that existing .NET users modify their application to remove the use of the PowerSolutionOLE ActiveX control and to use the new classes contained in the .NET DLL instead. Development of this ActiveX control has now ceased, and future enhancements, bug fixes, etc. will be done for the new series of .NET libraries only.
Their are some major advantages in moving over to .NET and the new DLL, and the Release Notes highlight some of the most significant changes.
